Pre-Operative Instructions
Please plan to be in our office for three hours on the day of your
appointment. It is not necessary to arrive earlier than your appointment
time. You should dress comfortably and may want to bring socks or
a light jacket or sweater with you.
You must have a ride home from your appointment. We ask that you
bring only one person with you since we have limited waiting space.
Also, if you have small children please make arrangements for their
care.
Due to confidentiality, we will not confirm any appointments. If
you are between 18-24 years of age please bring a legal picture
ID (Driver's License, Passport, state issued ID card). If you are
under 18 please call the office for additional instructions. Click
here for contact information.
If you are scheduled for surgery before 11:00 am, please do not
have anything to eat or drink after midnight the night before your
appointment, not even water. If your appointment is after 11:00
am, you may have something light to eat before 7:00 am.
Please refrain from using alcohol, recreational drugs, or non-prescription
medications for 48 hours prior to your appointment. If you take
prescription medications, please let us know prior to your appointment
so we can advise you how to take them on the day of your appointment.
If you have a Planned Parenthood referral letter you must bring
it to your appointment to receive a fee reduction if the pregnancy
is 12 weeks or under. Payment in full is due prior to the procedure.
We accept cash, MasterCard or Visa (the cardholder must be present
to sign, unless prior arrangements have been made). Absolutely no
checks or money orders will be accepted.
The fee for the procedure includes lab work (blood pressure, pulse,
temperature, hemoglobin, and Rh typing), ultrasound, a confidential
counseling session, sedation and a follow-up visit. There are three
prescriptions that will need to be filled after the procedure. You
may purchase them at our Center, or, if you prefer, you may take
the written prescriptions to the pharmacy to have them filled.
If your blood type is RH negative, you are required to have a Rhogam
injection following the procedure. This is to prevent potentially
serious problems from occurring with any future pregnancies. There
is a nominal fee for the administration of this injection.
If you would like birth control pills after the procedure, they
will be provided to you at no additional charge. If you are interested
in the NuvaRing, we can help you at your two-week follow up exam.
If you would prefer the birth control injection, we offer Depo Provera
for a nominal fee (effective for three months). Click
here to learn more about birth control options offered at our Center.
At Presidential Women's Center, we make every effort to see that
each woman receives personal attention and the highest level of
care. While we try hard to minimize waiting time for all of our
patients, sometimes that isn't possible. We ask for your understanding
in this matter, and assure you that while there may be delays at
times, we will never compromise the quality of your medical care.
